Horrible Customer Service
I recently purchased a TYMO curling iron and attempted to register my new product through TYMO's website. The registration page loads normally and displays the heading “Registration Form,” but the area underneath it is completely blank. There is no form to fill out and therefore no way to complete the registration. I contacted TYMO through the live chat on their website to ask for assistance. I explained that I was trying to register a product but that their registration page was blank. I also attempted to attach a screenshot using the paperclip provided in their chat interface, but that feature did not work either. The response I received from TYMO customer service was: “You can try using a different browser. There's nothing wrong with our page.” That was the entirety of their troubleshooting. They did not ask what browser or device I was using, provide an alternate registration link, offer to register the product for me, ask for the product information, or make any attempt to investigate the problem. I replied, sarcastically, “Wow. You have excellent customer service.” Rather than recognizing that I was clearly dissatisfied or attempting to resolve the issue, the representative responded: “Thanks so much for reaching out! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. Have a great day!” And that was it. My product remains unregistered. What is particularly frustrating is that I had just purchased a TYMO product and was doing exactly what the company asks customers to do: register it. I wasn't contacting them with an unreasonable demand or even a complaint about the product. I simply needed help because a feature on their own website wasn't working. Being told, essentially, that there is nothing wrong on their end—without any meaningful troubleshooting or solution—is remarkably dismissive customer service. A company selling products with a stated one-year warranty should make it possible to register those products and should be willing to assist customers when its registration process doesn't work. My first interaction with TYMO customer service occurred immediately after purchasing their product, and unfortunately it has left me with very little confidence about the support I could expect if I ever actually need warranty service.
