Rail Ninja - Should be called Rip-Off Ninja.
Rail Ninja sold us legitimate train tickets. That's about all I can say good about this shady outfit. They overcharged us for the tickets by reselling them at an inflated price. We paid $160 for tickets that had an actual cost of £77, or approximately a 50% overcharge. We did not realize this until the tickets arrived as email attachments the day before we were scheduled to travel. Of course by that time it was too late to cancel and book directly with the railroad. This exorbitant fee was not disclosed but was rather baked into their ticket price when we booked. We were not able to select seats through Rail Ninja, just indicate a seat preference. We indicated forward facing with a view. The seats assigned were backward facing without a view, the worst seats in the car, despite many requested seats being available. So, they overcharge, are not transparent, deliberately delay ticket delivery to ensure you are stuck, and provide terrible service. We certainly will not use them in the future. Further, Rail Ninja replied to say "Throughout the booking process, all ticket prices and service fees are clearly displayed." So, giving them the benefit of the doubt, I checked this statement by booking the same trip again on their site to see how the 50% service fee was disclosed. There was no disclosure that they were selling me a £77 rail ticket for $160. Not even a hint. The only statement available was that the $160 price "includes all fees and taxes". So, "Rip-Off Ninja" is how I'll forever refer to this dubious outfit.
