An Absolute Farce with IceWhale – Beware Kickstarter Scammers
I had the misfortune of backing the ZimaCube Pro on Kickstarter, throwing in a whopping USD 999. Following the campaign's completion, they swiped my credit card and promised delivery by March 2024. But did that happen? Absolutely not. Come June 2024, there was nary a peep from IceWhale. No customer support emails, not a single explanation, just utter silence. Tried ringing the phone number on their website – surprise, surprise, nobody picked up. Honestly, talk about abysmal service! Then, in August 2024, IceWhale had the audacity to claim my reward was on its way. Yet, a month later, I was slapped with a hefty customs fee to actually receive the blasted thing. And to think these charlatans promised everything was included in the price, VAT and all, on their Kickstarter page. The real cheek of it all? I discovered through an invoice that IceWhale marked my $999 item at a mere $150 to dodge tax charges themselves, effectively shoving the extra VAT cost straight down my throat. Simply outrageous! To anyone considering dealings with IceWhale or backing anything on Kickstarter, heed my warning: steer well clear. This lot cannot be trusted.
