Yi Obtrusive Ads Workaround
I posted a review of Yi on 20/01/2025 and my comments were bye and large the same as most others, that the product was pretty good but the app adverts were totally shameful. Anyway for those interested I would like to share a way of partially stopping the full screen noisy ads. Instead you will see the Yi logo but it only lasts about 10 seconds or less for me. This is for Android only as I don't know about iPhones and this example is for the Google Pixel. So open Settings, Network & Internet and click Private DNS. Select Private DNS provider hostname and under Hostname enter dns.adguard.com. Click save and you should no longer see the full screen ads. You will still get the smaller ads like Get AI alerts etc. but I can't get rid of those and they are far less obtrusive as you can just close them straight away. Hope this helps a little.
