The Litfad Macron 6 needs some skill to assemble and fit
The Litfad Macron 6 On the positive side these are unusual quirky light fittings at a good value price. But if you’re not confident with electrical installations don’t buy these. The delivery time is lengthy as they ship from halfway round the world, so return is not easy. Assembly instructions are unclear about exactly how the wiring is threaded and connected together. The individual cables are very light and not suitable for a connector block to bind them together, so I soldered them together to make an end that could be gripped safely in a connector block. No connectors of any type are supplied with this fitting, so you will need some 3 amp or smaller ones. I assembled this upside down, flipping it over for the last stage. The final cable for the combination supply is coloured white and black, which doesn’t meet any regulations that I know of. If you’re an electrician working to UK standards you’d throw this away and replace it with brown and blue cables. The ceiling bracket to suspend the fixture is supplied with two screws which would never support the weight required. Use your own fittings. Lastly there is a range of colour temperatures available by switching the light on and off quickly. This was a surprise not mentioned anywhere in the website or instructions. The colour is a bit too cold or warm depending how it’s set up, but they are typical leds in that respect. It’s pretty bright though :D
