After your representative told me that the basic economy fare was not available , I agreed to pay about $ 300 more to get Economy fare ( trip from Oregon to France ) . You sent me a confirmation email for economy tickets for all segments ( roundtrip ) . Then , when I double checked on the United app , my tickets were all in basic economy , which does not allow me to choose my seat , to make miles , and to take advantage of my status with Star Alliance ( gold member ) . There is obvious cheating . I talked to the representative ( Marcus ) , then to a manager ( Brexa ) for hours , with no resolution so far .
