Not real leather.
EDIT: I actually cut apart the strap the bag came with (I don't like long straps on bags anyway so i wasn't going to use it). It's made up of one layer of plastic lined with some kind of felt, and the inside has a weird fibrous material that's fixed to another plastic layer - definitely not leather. I wish I could post a pic here. I also did the water test (leather will eventually absorb a drop of water) and this failed it. I also scratched the coating with some dull scissors and the plastic just kind of wrinkled. Anyway, don't gaslight me - it's not leather. But feel free to send me a real leather purse any time. The bag was fun to make, but it was not leather, it was plastic. For over a hundred dollars I feel like they could have sent leather. But instructions were clear and it was fun. Just wish the materials were better quality.
