NO STARS IF IT WERE POSSIBLE - Following the death of my father in Australia, my husband and I had to cancel a booking for a hotel in Germany we'd made through Agoda. It was a non-refundable booking so we were aware of the situation. However given the circumstances I thought I would ask. I sent the request to Agoda at 16.35 on 8 August 2024. At 16.38 that day Agoda had responded saying they had contacted the hotel and the request was denied. Very quick indeed!! I wrote to the hotel and they said they had not received a request for cancellation. It is impossible to converse with anyone from Agoda because my query doesn't fit within their options. I have not cancelled the booking because the hotel said if it was up to them they would at the very least offer us a rebooking (not an option for us) but they could not as the booking was made through Agoda. Agoda have lost our business for ever.
