PayPal Sides with dishonest sellers
I purchased an item from an international seller that arrived damaged due to clearly inadequate packaging. When I raised a dispute through PayPal, I was told I must pay return postage to receive a refund — despite the seller advertising free returns and PayPal's own buyer protection guarantees. PayPal has effectively sided with a dishonest seller and made me financially responsible for their failure to package goods adequately. I did not damage this item. The seller's poor packaging did. Yet I am the one bearing the cost. This experience reveals PayPal's buyer protection for what it is — a marketing promise that dissolves the moment it's actually tested. International sellers operating under false return policies are being actively facilitated by PayPal's dispute resolution process, which appears designed to discourage legitimate claims rather than resolve them fairly. I will be using alternative payment methods for any future international purchases. layla
