A Disappointing Experience in Chongqing Our recent three-day trip to Chongqing, arranged by China Highlights, was unfortunately marred by an unexpected situation involving our guide. Our guide without explicitly stating the policy, requested to join us for lunch. As we were unaware of the specific guidelines, we agreed. However after the lunch, we were surprised to be asked to pay a bill including her meal which exceeded the lunch allowance provided by China Highlights. It became evident later for us that our allowance did not cover guides's meal. Basically, she should have her lunch separated from us. We believe it is crucial for China Highlights to ensure consistent and transparent communication with both customers and their guides about lunch allowance policy. And ask all guides to follow. Updated: 11/13/24 After a series of communications, I am highly impressed by China Highlights' investigation. As such, I have revised my rating from 2 to 4 star. I am still expected to book my next trip with China Highlights.
