Modern and Cool
I have really enjoyed my learning experience with Silk Mandarin. If you are frustrated with outdated learning models like I was try Silk Mandarin. When I first started to learn I was curious about the language and culture. I was learning for personal enrichment and to be able to travel to China one day. I picked a teacher here in the United States who used a text book that was very old. Also, it was about college students only and I found the conversations boring. Additionally, if I got a tone wrong or mispronounced a word more than once I was told to study more and I started to feel bad and didn’t want to go anymore. Then I saw a casual conversation on Instagram from Silk Manderin advertising language learning. The people were diverse and were having a normal fun conversation. That was over two years ago now. I love meeting with my teacher as she is cheerful and fun. She encourages me to do better without making me feel bad. I am finally able to read and understand basic things. I can even write some characters. I can practice with the online platform and I find it modern with a variety of conversations. I can really enjoy learning the language. I believe we should all try to learn about different cultures.
