Unexpected automatic renewal and no refund despite no usage
I discovered only recently that I have been charged for an annual subscription to the EWA app for several years. Back in 2023 I apparently paid a small amount to try the app. What I did not realize at the time was that this action activated an automatic annual subscription. Since then, the subscription has been renewed every year. I only became aware of the charges a few days ago when I received a notification from my bank. After checking my account history, I saw that I had been charged annually for the past three years. The problem is that I have not used the app at all since that initial moment in 2023. As soon as I noticed the most recent charge, I immediately contacted their support team and requested a refund for the latest payment. Despite the fact that the charge had just occurred and the service has not been used, my refund request was denied. I understand that subscriptions can renew automatically, but considering that the app has not been used for years and that I contacted support immediately after noticing the charge, I believe that refunding the latest payment would be a reasonable and fair solution. I hope the company will reconsider cases like this in the future.
