Circuitmess Mars Rover Problem
I purchased a Circuitmess Mars Rover and it was delivered in April 2026. I had a problem with the 3 servos not moving, just making a buzzing noise. Many emails with Circuitmess and 3 new servos did not identify the problem. I spent $15 on a servo tester. I did my own investigation and discovered the rover circuitry was not supplying enough voltage to power the servos that were shipped from Circuitmess. One additional (possibly) related issue I observed was that servos labeled "Tower Pro MG90S" had all plastic gears inside whereas MG90S servos from Tower Pro have metal gears inside. That's what the MG in the name stands for. I order 3 real Tower Pro SG90 servos for $16 and found that they all worked fine with my rover. I also found that others rover buyers were experiencing the same problem I had. As I see it Circuitmess should consider the following improvement. Have a quality process where parts purchased for the mars rover are tested to make sure they are compatible with the current design of the rover.
