No-name brand quality, x2 Apple price
**Premium price. Cheap hardware. Support that disappears once the easy answer fails.** I bought the Nanoleaf Smart Multicolor Floor Lamp 2-Pack for €150. One lamp failed after only five months and started randomly flashing like a broken nightclub light. At first, support replied reasonably quickly. The first absurdity was their support form: almost every field is mandatory, so I spent around 40 minutes filling it out even though maybe 10% of the questions had anything to do with my problem. Eventually, Nanoleaf approved a replacement. Great. Then the package arrived. They had sent me... an LED strip. Just the strip. No stand, no controller/electronics, no remote, no power supply. Nothing else. Considering the symptoms I had described, it was already obvious that simply swapping the LEDs was unlikely to fix anything. The power supply also gets alarmingly hot during normal use, yet apparently nobody thought the electronics might be relevant. I replaced the LED strip anyway. Unsurprisingly, the exact same problem remained. This is where Nanoleaf support became truly ridiculous. My emails started being ignored for weeks. I eventually had to open a completely new ticket and fill in their huge form AGAIN just to get someone to answer me. Then replies took around two weeks and included questions basically amounting to: “We already solved your problem, why are you contacting us again?” Because you didn’t solve it. I explicitly told them that their replacement part changed absolutely nothing. After another long wait, they asked me to send a video of the problem — a video I had already sent them multiple times. So my €150 “premium” smart lighting experience has been: lamp fails after 5 months → 40-minute support form → wrong replacement part → install it myself → problem remains → support disappears → new ticket → fill everything out again → wait weeks → explain the same issue again → wait → get asked for evidence already provided. The most disappointing part is that I wanted Nanoleaf products for probably 10–12 years. Back then I couldn’t justify the price, but I loved how their products looked and assumed the premium pricing meant premium quality. Now I finally bought them and learned what that premium actually gets you: nice industrial design wrapped around hardware that feels like cheap generic electronics, plus customer support that becomes almost impossible to reach once their first scripted solution fails. Nanoleaf charges luxury-brand prices without delivering luxury-brand quality control or after-sales service. After waiting more than a decade to buy their products, I’m now completely cured of wanting anything else from this brand. UPD: October 19. They send me a new controller and you know what? It's still the same issue. I've checked with charger from second stick and issue disappeared. 2 times they send me a wrong part, 6 months of support wars. It's the dunn best tech team I've ever see.
