Everything I was looking for and more - a comprehensive prep tool for the McKinsey “Solve” Experience
I can’t overstate how valuable the PSG Secrets resources have been to me as part of my McKinsey “Solve” interview prep experience. I got everything I was looking for out of the content and more. I unequivocally recommend this package to anyone going through this process, and I’m very grateful that such a resource exists to help every candidate maximize their chances of success on the Solve content. I admit that I was initially on the fence about purchasing due to the price point, but now, having completed the coursework and simulations, I can confidently say that this is a steal for the value of the information provided. I am going into the experience confident, prepared, and with critical tools and approaches at my disposal that will help me present myself in the best possible light as a candidate. Looking back, I realize that if I had gone in blind I would have ended up wasting valuable time trying to navigate the format and expectations, rather than executing the problems. The video content itself is extensive and detailed. The course covers cover what to expect from each Solve module, how to approach the problems, how to handle time management, common challenges you are likely to encounter, and more. Detailed, full length examples are provided, and the explanations are clear and easy to understand. Interactive comment forums are also available for fellow interviewees to ask questions and discuss strategies, and it was helpful to read through the questions that others had about both the interview process and the Solve tasks. Francesco himself is very responsive and active in addressing questions and comments on the material. This package also provides spreadsheet templates that can help candidates organize their thoughts and automate common calculations for the Solve problem formats, which I felt went above and beyond what I expected from the content I purchased. It’s clear that a lot of thought has been put into the best way to navigate this part of the McKinsey interview process. Finally, I highly recommend adding on the simulation modules. There’s a big difference between watching someone solve a problem and practicing it yourself. The simulations gave me a clear sense of both my strengths and what I needed to focus on improving in advance of the test. The ability to practice time management, efficient information organization, and accurate execution on hyper-realistic versions of the actual test scenarios was probably the most valuable part of the experience for me, and it’s pretty impressive what Francesco has managed to do in terms of simulating the Solve experience. Answers are, of course, provided, allowing for an honest assessment of each candidate’s readiness for the test. In summary, I’m so glad I chose to use PSG Secrets as part of my interview prep. If you’re on the fence like I was, I hope that this can serve as a helpful testimonial from a fellow interviewee on the other side.
