Retell AI — Country restrictions with zero transparency or support
I've been trying to make outbound calls to Turkey (+90) for days and every single call fails immediately with the following error: "SIP status code 403 — telephony_provider_permission_denied: Dialed number (associated countries: TUR) is not included in whitelisted countries USA, CAN D13" The D13 error indicates a country-level block that cannot be changed from the dashboard. There is no documentation warning you about this before you spend time and money setting up your entire telephony stack. I purchased a dedicated external Telnyx number specifically to call Turkish numbers, configured everything correctly on both ends, and still hit this invisible wall. No clear support channel, no timeline for resolution, no transparency about which countries are restricted and why. Just a cryptic error and silence. What a waste of time and effort. Pathetic
