Misrepresentation - "Unlimited" Hosting – Disk Space Limits Not Disclosed Upfront
I signed up for SmarterASP.net because they advertised unlimited disk space — perfect for migrating 10 years' worth of media from my previous host. After days of effort uploading and configuring my site, I was hit with a "disk soft limit" warning and told that I have to pay more. None of this was disclosed during sign-up. Their vague terms allow them to restrict your storage arbitrarily. Support has been polite but unhelpful, and refuses to escalate the issue or offer a workable solution. This feels like a bait-and-switch. If your website relies on media or needs more than 30GB, I strongly advise caution. I came in good faith expecting to scale — instead, I feel misled and blocked at launch. Very disappointed after investing so much effort. Not recommended for creatives or serious projects.
