Refused Payment to Minority Veteran-Owned Business After Last-Minute Booking
I worked with Bellhop as an independent box truck owner after they urgently reached out to me for last-minute moves over the 4th of July weekend. As a veteran and minority-owned small business, I took the job to help my financial situation. I went out of pocket to order equipment they required — dollies, shrink wrap, blankets — and was told these were necessary. While awaiting delivery of the supplies, I communicated clearly that I couldn’t afford to buy the same items twice. Bellhop showed no concern and no flexibility. After fulfilling my duties, I was met with rudeness and zero accountability. Their representative refused to pay me the money I am owed, despite multiple follow-ups. I’ve now reached out four times, and each time they’ve ignored or deflected my requests. This company has shown a complete lack of respect for small, veteran-owned businesses. They left me financially worse off — during a time I was simply trying to survive in this already cutthroat industry.
