Interactive Brokers

Terrible service

I usually don’t waste my time reviewing anything, but this time I have to write because of my terrible experience with Interactive Broker. I have accounts with Etoro, a bank, and Revolut. Due to the marketing and the fact that many people recommended this Interactive Broker, I decided to start investing in this platform. I submitted my application, passport, and residential card, but they were all rejected. I called customer support, and they accepted my passport after I uploaded it. However, they kept rejecting my address declaration. I uploaded the printout from the government website, but they still rejected it. When I called customer support again, they told me to upload my apartment utility bill. I did that, but they still rejected it. When I started chatting with customer support, I realized that all of them were located in India. They asked me stupid questions like, “What is a utility bill? How does it work? How can you reject or accept it if you don’t understand or read documents that issues in Europe?” As I understood, AML/KYC is located in India, and they have no idea how to read or understand European documents or how European systems or IDs work. This is terrible! A company with a high reputation hired a bunch of people in India to cut costs, and it really affected the quality of service. When I started with Etoro it was a 5-minute job. Now, it’s almost a month, and these stupid people can’t help me except send me reminder emails that are generated by the computer. Anyway, I finally invested the money I was thinking of investing in Interactive Broker in Etoro. You really need to check how customer support and AML/KYC work. If this is the way you want to treat people who are thinking of using your service, I doubt your company will have this reputation for a long period. It was a terrible experience. I don’t think I’m planning to waste my time uploading every document that my Indian friends can see leaked in the public since they don’t even have any GDPR law or anything.
