My VERY POOR experience with BNB Academy - 1 year later
I invested over $10,000 into this program with high hopes of building an Airbnb business through arbitrage. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of the expectations that were set during the sales process. One of my biggest concerns was the level of support provided throughout the program. I was initially paired with a coach who had successfully started through arbitrage, which was important to me because that was the path I was pursuing. However, he left the company without any notice to me. I spent weeks trying to contact him with no response, only to later receive an email informing me that he had left the program and I was given to another coach. By that point, I had already been attempting to reach him for quite some time. As someone pursuing Airbnb arbitrage rather than purchasing properties outright, I also felt there were limited resources and guidance available for people starting with less capital. Much of the advice and success stories seemed geared toward those with significantly more money to invest. To be fair, I did go through most of the program modules, scheduled weekly calls with my coach while he was still with the company, and attended the group coaching meetings at least once per week. Despite making an effort to utilize the available resources, I still felt that the guidance and support specific to my business model were significantly lacking. What ultimately led me to write this review again was how my concerns were handled. After posting an honest review, I was asked to remove it while the company considered my request for a refund. Trusting that process, I removed the review immediately. However, after doing so, weeks went by with very little communication. I repeatedly requested a call with Michael to discuss my concerns and was never able to have that conversation. Despite my continued efforts to get answers, I felt my concerns were never fully addressed, and the refund request remained unresolved after weeks to months of follow-up. At the time, I was 8 months pregnant and trying to get clarity on a significant financial investment. I often felt that communication only happened when I continued following up myself. Eventually, I had a final text with another team member, and I was informed that my refund request would not be approved. No clear explanation was provided as to why my refund request was denied, which made the outcome especially frustrating given the concerns I had raised throughout the process. They did offer continued coaching but I told them multiple times that with how they coached (lack of arbitrage resources) and my current finances I couldnt invest into my airbnb business anymore especially with the economy and the market. My savings for my business was what was spent on coaching. As someone who works for a high ticket coaching company myself I was actually shocked and appalled the way they handled customer service. I fully accept responsibility for my own results and understand that no coaching program can guarantee success. However, I do not feel that the level of support, communication, and guidance I received justified the investment I made. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage prospective clients to speak with multiple former students, understand exactly what support is provided, and carefully evaluate whether the program is a good fit for their specific business model before making a significant financial commitment.
