Our Experience with Empowerly
We’ve been working with Empowerly, and specifically with our son Aarav’s college counselor, Shahrukh — and we could not be happier with the experience. From day one, Shahrukh has taken the time to really understand who Aarav is: what he’s interested in, what he’s genuinely excited by, and what he wants for himself long-term. His guidance is not generic or checkbox-driven. Instead of trying to force Aarav into a cookie-cutter profile, he builds around Aarav’s actual strengths and passions. What we appreciate most is the balance he brings. He’s incredibly encouraging and motivating, but he’s also honest. He doesn’t sugarcoat how difficult it is to get into Aarav’s dream schools. He shows Aarav clear examples of what it takes — the level of work, the depth of commitment, and the type of impact top schools are looking for — and then helps him map out how to get there. That combination of support and realism has been invaluable. Shahrukh is also intentional about helping Aarav grow, not just “package” himself. He highlights what Aarav already does well, while actively pushing him to strengthen areas of opportunity. We would highly recommend Empowerly, and especially Shahrukh, to any family. They focus on your child as an individual — their interests, their voice, their goals — and that makes all the difference.
