Custom design detail Issue
Update 12/17/25: I’ve respectfully asked AOJ to remove their defamatory statements with zero response. Also, I contracted Trust Pilot because asking a customer to change their review in exchange for something is against their policies. I forwarded this to Trustpilot from Sara at AOJ: “ Hey Brynn, This is awesome, we're happy you've finalized your new design. As we discussed our goal is to make you happy and ensure everything is just as you want. Before we can proceed with making your new design we do ask that you please remove the 1 star review. It is truly hurting our reputation and our business every day that it is as such. Again, if the new ring doesn't live up to your expectations (Trust me, we will make sure this won't happen) you can always return the review. I hope this makes sense via email - I attempted to talk to you via phone a few times and I seem to miss you or call at a bad time. I don't want to delay your new ring and want to make sure your experience is good and stress free. Sara” Not only is that a blatant violation of Trustpilot policy, but then I get harassed online (here), with them lying about refusing to do business with me and making me out to be the bad guy when I did what I was told I could freely do- change back my review. So, the customer is allowed to have their reputation tarnished with made up facts, but I can’t tell the truth about the company? Guys, this is not a good company. Good luck if you choose to do business with them. Please also note that although provided with the actual emails and screenshots, Trustpilot will not remove AOJs response as they “don’t get involved in disputes”. What a joke. Thanks for ruining my engagement- AGAIN, AOJ. Remove your ludicrous response please and I will remove my updates. - - - My fiancé and I initially chose Art of Jewels for a custom engagement ring and later decided to design a matching wedding band during the process. While the design phase went smoothly, the production journey was much more difficult. The first engagement ring arrived missing a major designed detail. The second version was incorrect in almost every way and was structurally flawed. The third remake was finally well-made and close to what we originally envisioned. This was also the first time the matching wedding band was made, but unfortunately, the band was missing the specific design detail we had requested. Communication was inconsistent during these months, and several important emails slipped through the cracks. After a long back-and-forth, we were offered the option to return the wedding band for a refund, but at the time we decided to keep it. We were afraid that if we tried to have a matching band made elsewhere in the future, the gold color wouldn’t match — something Sara emphasized during the final remake process. We were also told the company had taken a loss making our rings, so offering any further discount wouldn’t make good business sense. I explained that I understood but wanted closure on how the same detail had been missed again on the band. When I later updated my review on Trustpilot, Art of Jewels responded. While I disagree with the tone of their response, I do feel that the final resolution — refunding the wedding band — was the right and fair outcome. I appreciate that they ultimately made things right. Because of this resolution, I do recommend Art of Jewels, but with one caveat: if you are pursuing a highly intricate or fully custom design, you may experience bumps along the way. For simpler or more standard styles, I believe most customers will likely have a smooth experience and a beautiful final result.
