DO NOT BUY DJI PRODUCTS
DO NOT BUY DJI PRODUCTS! IT'S A SCAM I’ve owned over $2,000 worth of DJI products—and all that money is now wasted. I've lost two drones due to GPS malfunctions. The first time it happened, I submitted the flight logs to customer support. They admitted the GPS malfunction but only offered me a $130 store credit, claiming it was because the drone was purchased refurbished. Not exactly fair, but I accepted it and bought another drone. Then it happened again. (Here’s how I lost my second drone—you be the judge: Upon launching the drone I realized that it logged me out of my account on the controller, it does it sometimes for no reason, and I could not log back in cause there was no service in the area, so it limited my flight distance to 50 meters. Fine, I thought—I’ll make it quick. But while flying over a lake, the drone suddenly updated its home point to a RANDOM location in the middle of the water. Because of the 50-meter restriction from this new home point, I couldn’t bring the drone back to shore, no matter what I tried. Eventually, the battery ran out and the drone sank into the lake. Not only did I lose a significant amount of money due to DJI’s malfunctioning software, but now there’s also a lithium battery polluting the lake.) After dozens of frustrating and unhelpful emails with DJI support, I was basically told to piss off. End of story. They basically saying that their products is good for a year and then you can throw it in garbage. Expect it to start malfunctioning right after 1 year warranty. I will never use DJI products again, and I strongly discourage anyone from doing business with them—or with any scammy chinese company that operates with such disregard for quality and customer service. I wish they were banned from Western markets altogether. There are reputable US-based alternatives that offer better products and actually stand by them. BTW DJI is the main supplier of death to russo-ukranian war for both sides. Their drones kill more people than bullets, shells, and missiles combined while making profits of both sides. Karma has no mercy for those who profit from death—and by supporting this company, you’re putting yourself on that list.
