Great idea, poor execution
The ordering process, updates, etc. are all top notch. I’m just not a big fan of the watch. I’ll start by saying this is my first seiko mod purchase. I wasn’t expecting an Omega caliber watch for $300. I was, however, expecting a watch that feels like a $300 piece as that’s what it cost. I’ll start with the crystal. Being domed like the piece it’s an “homage” of, it really should have been ar coated. The watch is basically unreadable in any lighting situation because of the reflection off of the crystal. Secondly, the bezel wobbles in any position. Something that just isn’t acceptable in a $300 plus piece. My third gripe is the bezel insert. The bezel has notches machined into it and the bezel insert doesn’t line up to those notches at the 12 o’clock position. Finally, and my biggest gripe, is the stainless strap. It’s awful. The adjustments are too far apart and the clasp is so thick when closed it’s virtually unwearable. After an hour I had to put the rubber strap on. The overall aesthetic of the watch is wonderful….the execution is lacking.
