Mariner Finance insists on INCORRECTLY reporting my loan to credit bureaus as “currently in collections”. I fell on hard times last summer after being unemployed for 14 months. I ended missing 3 payments. Mariner sued and we agreed to settle with bringing the loan current, which I did. We never went before a judge. As a matter of fact, Mariner had the suit dismissed. Every payment has been on time since. Now I’m learning nearly a year later that Mariner is reporting the loan to credit bureaus as CURRENTLY IN COLLECTIONS and has been reporting EVERY payment since July 2025 as “collection “. Calling the Glen Allen, VA office was a waste of time . The agent acted superior and arrogant, constantly interrupted and talked over me, essentially telling me “this is how we do it”. Keep in mind that EVERY payment since the loan opened October 2023 until April 2025 was on time, including for over a year while unemployed. Stay away. A perfect history means nothing to Mariner if you stumble. Miss a couple payments a they will ruin your reputation. Did I mention I was rejected for financing a house because of this?
