My mother passed away last week when I was in Thailand. Changing the return air ticket was explored but I eventually had to buy a one-way ticket costing under $300 to return to Singapore. I also had to forfeit some hotel and transport costs.
Just claiming a small amount of $350 requires jumping through hoops. Directasia will need me to produce all the documents of rejected claims and proof of my relationship with the deceased for verifying against the death certificate. While I understand insurer have policies to safeguard itself I believe that for small claims, the insurer ought to be humane and not give me all the rubbish in the email correspondences.

When I requested for refund I provided my bank account for cash refund but Airpaz denied refunding in cash and forced a refund voucher on me. How can Airpaz deny customers right for a cash refund and why did it even bother to ask for my bank account details?
The refund voucher is single-use only and is valid for 12 months from the date of issuance. Any remaining balance cannot be redeemed as cash or claimed for another refund.
