My feedback regarding Trade Assurance…
My feedback regarding Trade Assurance Order No. 240673907001022911 is that the customer experience was extremely disappointing and undermined confidence in Alibaba’s buyer protection system. I purchased goods through Trade Assurance specifically because Alibaba promotes it as a secure way to buy internationally with protection if problems arise. In my case, I paid in full for the goods, never received the goods, and the supplier later admitted that the trailer was transferred to another customer. Despite this, my refund request was rejected. The dispute process felt slow, opaque, and heavily weighted against the buyer. Communication consisted largely of generic template responses with no meaningful status updates. The case remained in arbitration for an extended period with little transparency, then concluded with a decision that did not adequately address the core issue: the paid goods were never delivered and could no longer be delivered. Several specific concerns should be reviewed: Non-delivery should be central. If a supplier cannot deliver goods because they were transferred to another party, buyer protection should not be denied so easily. Excessive reliance on technicalities. The decision focused on the absence of an official customs rejection record while overlooking documented warnings from a customs broker regarding insufficient documentation and legal risks. Acceptance of contradictory supplier evidence. Supplier statements and submitted documents contained inconsistencies that did not appear to be critically examined. Poor communication. Repeated automated responses during arbitration created the impression of delay rather than active case management. Misleading value of Trade Assurance. Buyers pay and rely on Trade Assurance expecting meaningful protection. In this case, it did not function as expected. To improve customer experience, Alibaba should: Provide transparent case timelines and real updates from case handlers. Clearly explain what evidence is required at the start of a dispute. Apply stronger protection in clear non-delivery situations. Scrutinize contradictory supplier evidence more carefully. Ensure Trade Assurance matches the protection implied in Alibaba’s marketing. At present, my experience suggests that Trade Assurance did not protect me when it mattered most. This outcome makes it difficult to trust the platform for future purchases.
