Trip was great despite Luxe Tribe's shortcomings
My trip to Bali was fantastic overall. The accommodations were beautiful, the welcome gift was thoughtful, and the staff was incredible—especially Gayatri aka G, our concierge, who went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. She truly made the trip a success. That said, my experience with Luxe Tribes was not so great. With a group of 14, there were several details we had to repeatedly follow up on that I expected a travel agency to handle proactively. For example, our late-night arrival (12:15am) wasn’t aligned with our villa check-in time (4:00pm), and no adjustments were suggested. Our group had to ask for an earlier check in to avoid waiting around for hours after a long flight. Our group was also split into two villas and separate spa times due to last-minute bookings, which impacted the overall experience, not to mention some of the excursions were missing altogether. Some meal plans were even finalized the day before the respective meal. Our itinerary and meals should have been finalized at least 2 weeks in advance of the trip, which we started paying on 6+ months advance. While Luxe Tribes made an effort, they missed key opportunities to anticipate our needs, especially for the price we paid. I feel like we overpaid for our entire trip. I was able to individually price the excursions and the villa and what we paid to Luxe was grossly inflated compared to if we had booked on our own. Despite that, Bali is absolutely beautiful, and thanks to G, we still had a great experience.
