Scam-ish
I found Rail Ninja because they outbid Amtrak on train tickets in New York through Google search, so they appear at the top of the page. Their website looked pretty similar to Amtrak’s website, so without thinking I clicked through and booked a seat. And then realised that the ticket I booked was 2.5 times the price of the actual Amtrak ticket, which was still available on Antrak’s website. It was quite hard to then cancel my booking through Rail Ninja, with no cancellation link provided. (I hope it really is now cancelled and the charges were reversed- it seems to be, but they tell me the money won’t show up in my account for 5 to 7 days or something). This is borderline Scam tactics. Would advise folks to avoid this website and book their tickets directly through which ever rail company they’re planning to use.
