Frustrating Customer Service
They have great margin rates and supposedly accept trust accounts and allow for a contingent or secondary beneficiary. But, to get to a competent customer service person takes a great amount of patience. Their phone system will ask for a ticket number and when you give it to them they tell you to go to the website and hang up. If you put in a transfer on death form it is hit or miss if they ever approve it. Meanwhile, while you are waiting they will keep asking for the form you already sent. If you need a broker where you can pick up a phone to deal with a major problem, they are not it. If you need low margin rates and a contingent beneficiary then go for it. By comparison, I found RobinHood better and they are no walk in the park to deal with. I finally got to a great customer service person at IBKR but it was by accident.
