BEWARE: GMKtec Support (Lara) is Evading Warranty on NucBox M7 - 2 Months of "Slow-Rolling" & Defective Hardware
My 10-month-old GMKtec NucBox M7 has confirmed physical RAM failure and BIOS corruption. Support ("Lara") has been "slow-rolling" my emails for 2 months to drain my 1-year warranty. Some of the issues I’ve had with their product: Physical RAM Failure: Thousands of errors in MemTest86 on one of the stock DDR5 sticks. Firmware/BIOS Corruption: The BIOS UI is glitched/empty, and the system is plagued by kernel panics (nvme_core and xhci_pci hangs). EVASION: I first reported this 2 months ago. They respond once every week or two with "try reinstalling Windows," ignoring the fact that it fails to even post or hold a stable BIOS. Persistent Power Instability: This unit has suffered from sudden power losses and instant shutdowns since it was "functional," even when using the stock power supply. This indicates a defective power delivery system or a dead CPU core. they’ll send you a message every few weeks, instructing you to reinstall Windows 11. They’ll either send you a sketchy pre-made image flash or the official way. I’ve tried both dozens of times. I have provided images to prove I could install Windows 11 Pro to 100% below, but it wouldn’t boot. It immediately went into a bluescreen during the Windows 11 splash screen. I’ve also tried five different Linux distributions. Each exit with kernel panic. I’ve sent my final notice of intent to report them for warranty evasion to Amazon and Service Alberta. I’m posting this as a warning: if you buy these "budget" mini PCs, you are on your own if the hardware fails. Don’t listen to the slop influencers who peddle this stuff for a kickback Take it from me i have bought 2 GMKtec pcs and both broke within under a year plus a $1000 cad egpu off them. Unfortunately, it looks like i’m at a total loss here. Has anyone actually successfully gotten an RMA from GMKtec recently, or am I just looking at a $800+ paperweight?
