1800petmeds will not accept sales tax exemption from a nonprofit.
I created an account for a nonprofit animal rescue organization that is exempt from paying state sales tax. I asked that the sales tax exemption be applied to the account and submitted all necessary paperwork. 1800petmeds refused to add the tax exemption to the account, writing "We do apologize, but we are not currently able to set up accounts for Tax Exemptions." I have been a board member of this group since 1992 and have set up countless tax exempt accounts with business ranging from local veterinarians to big retailers like Walmart. Not once have I had any issues until now. Clearly, 1800petmeds does not value business from animal rescues and they certainly won't have to bother with business from us.
