Stick with credit cards - it's safer
Been using PayPal for 21 years. So clearly fine until I hit a problem with supplier where I'd used PayPal to pay for goods. Found you don't get Section 75 Consumer Protection with PayPal. Also found you don't get to speak to a human being and even though you supply all the evidence you ask for they still find in favour of the supplier - who is presumably paying their commission. Won't be using them again
