Warranty acknowledged, but never fulfilled
I purchased a YCW-20 mini excavator through Alibaba Trade Assurance for USD 6,810. This review is based on my documented experience with one specific Trade Assurance order. During the warranty period, one of the travel motors developed a housing crack and began leaking hydraulic oil. During the warranty process, it became clear that both installed travel motors lacked identification plates. The mounting holes for the plates were present, but the identification plates themselves were missing. Without proper identification: • compatibility cannot be verified; • replacement parts cannot be verified; • warranty service cannot be reliably performed. Three separate warranty cases were opened through Alibaba's after-sales process. All three warranty cases were eventually marked as completed and closed. Alibaba later confirmed in writing that the supplier did not fulfill the warranty obligations and that Alibaba was unable to perform the warranty service. Despite this acknowledgement, all warranty cases remained closed while the equipment remained unrepaired. The supplier later provided only a photograph of a nameplate but never supplied complete technical specifications, dimensional drawings, or documented compatibility confirmation for the proposed replacement motor. I have retained complete documentation, photographs, videos, warranty case records, and written correspondence supporting this review. This review reflects my documented experience with one specific Alibaba Trade Assurance order. I encourage every buyer to review the available evidence carefully and draw their own conclusions. A warranty has little practical value if installed components cannot be identified and therefore cannot be replaced under warranty. Based on this experience, I believe buyers should carefully evaluate how warranty support can actually be carried out before relying on Trade Assurance when purchasing machinery.
