Disappointing customer services and last minute charges
Very disappointing experience with ViewQwest customer service, especially as a customer of more than 5 years. I have been a loyal ViewQwest customer for over 5 years and have always expected a reasonable level of service and support. Unfortunately, my recent relocation experience was extremely frustrating. I requested a relocation of my internet service and was informed by ViewQwest that I had outstanding bills that needed to be cleared before the relocation could proceed. I immediately paid all outstanding amounts, checked my customer portal to confirm that everything was settled, and only then submitted my relocation request. The relocation appointment was scheduled one week later. During this waiting period, I was already without internet and had to rely on mobile data every day while waiting for the earliest available appointment. On the actual day of relocation, ViewQwest suddenly called me and informed me that there was still an outstanding amount of $64 and that the relocation could not proceed unless I paid immediately. This was extremely frustrating because: * I had already cleared all previous outstanding bills. * My account portal showed that my bills were fully paid. * I had personally checked again 2–3 days before the appointment to make sure everything was in order. * No one informed me beforehand that there was an additional charge that could affect my relocation. When I asked why this was only brought up on the day of relocation, the customer service officer explained that the relocation charges were generated after the request. However, there was no prior notification, invoice, or warning given to me. I requested that the amount be added to my next billing cycle, which is a reasonable solution used by many service providers. Instead, the officer repeatedly insisted that I must pay immediately or the relocation would be cancelled. The entire conversation felt more like a threat than customer service: "Pay now or we will not provide the service." I also requested a written explanation with the breakdown and timeline of this additional charge, but till today I have not received any response. For a customer who has supported ViewQwest for more than 5 years, this level of communication and handling was very disappointing. A good service provider should communicate clearly, proactively inform customers of charges, and focus on resolving issues instead of simply repeating policies. I hope ViewQwest reviews its customer service approach and improves how such situations are handled in the future.
