Horrible baby registry experience
am beyond disappointed with Target’s customer service. I purchased a stroller costing over $300 from a baby registry. I live in California and had it shipped directly to the recipient in New York. When it arrived, the box was completely unacceptable—it was torn up, had mold on it, and looked like it had already been opened and poorly re-taped. This is not the condition anyone expects for an expensive baby item. After speaking with four different customer service representatives, I got nowhere. Instead of taking responsibility for delivering a damaged package, I was told I would have to haul the large, heavy stroller to a Target store myself and hope they had another one in stock. My request was simple: pick up the damaged stroller at the time of delivery and replace it with a new one in the condition it should have arrived in. Target refused. Target’s failure to deliver a product in acceptable condition became my problem to fix. What should have been an exciting gift for a growing family turned into a frustrating, time-consuming experience. For a company as large as Target, I expected much better customer service and accountability. Based on this experience, I will not be shopping with Target again.
