Wag! Pet App Tried to Collect Money I Never Owed—Then Locked My Account
I authorized one $39.95 background check payment, but Wag attempted to charge me two additional times for the same background check. After my bank reversed the duplicate charges, Wag deactivated my caregiver account. Wag then told me I had to work off the disputed amount through future bookings to regain access to my account—even while denying they had ever attempted the duplicate charges in the first place. Wag acknowledged they received payment for my background check, yet never explained why they attempted to bill me multiple times or why I was expected to repay money I dispute owing. I completed only two services, both with 5-star reviews, and had no prior issues. After researching, I found Wag has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau and many similar complaints, which made me question whether my experience reflects a broader pattern in how the company handles disputes. I have retained the emails, billing records, and other documentation supporting my account of what occurred.
