Far too expensive for what it offers
Unfortunately, the Hexcal Studio has been a very disappointing purchase. The top surface scratches surprisingly easily when it is used as a monitor stand, which is particularly disappointing for a product in this price range. The built-in LED lighting is also impractical to control. You have to press the buttons repeatedly to cycle through the settings and reach the colour, brightness, or configuration you want. This could have been designed much better, for example with a dial, or dedicated preset buttons The connectivity is another major weakness. Although the Studio has eight AC outlets, it provides only four USB connections in total, and two of those are simply USB 2.0 bridging ports. Considering the size of the unit, there is clearly enough space for more useful ports. A proper integrated USB hub or port multiplier should be standard in a product like this, especially at this price. In everyday use, its only genuinely useful function is hiding loose and hanging cables inside the compartment. Apart from that, it feels like an extremely expensive, plastic-heavy cable box with a removable lid rather than the advanced workstation it is advertised as. The price is completely disproportionate to the functionality and practical value it provides. A very poor purchase for the money.
