Unjustified Weekly Account Freezes and Canceled Bids: Proceed with Caution

If you are a seller relying on eBay for income, be aware that their automated moderation systems are severely flawed, and standard customer support offers no protection. For the second week in a row, eBay’s automated AI flagged and suspended my seller account right before my weekly scheduled auctions were set to end. Incident 1: My account was blocked for alleged "suspicious activity." An eBay customer service representative explicitly admitted on a recorded line that it was a total mistake caused by an automated system error. However, the system still canceled over 10 active sales and wiped out 130 of my listings. Incident 2: A few days later, my account was suspended again. The system falsely claimed I lacked tracking information—even though every single completed order had valid tracking uploaded—and falsely flagged policy violations. Once again, support confirmed no policies were broken, yet I was placed on another 72-hour hold for an unnecessary third identity verification, canceling nearly 20 active sales with bids already placed on them. eBay’s automated moderation regularly shuts down legitimate seller accounts 24 to 48 hours before auctions finish. Customer support reps openly acknowledge the system errors, but there is zero safeguard to prevent the same bot from striking your account again a week later. The financial harm and loss of buyer trust caused by these automated glitches are unacceptable. Seller accounts should not be repeatedly frozen when support already confirmed the flags were mistakes.
