Samsung Egypt refuses to take responsibility for manufacturing defect

I purchased a Samsung TV (Model UA60AU8000UXEG), and within less than 4 years, the exact same screen defect (color distortion) has occurred four separate times. The first was under warranty (proving the defect was inherent from day one), then it recurred three more times with escalating repair costs: 2,000 EGP, then 3,000 EGP, and now Samsung is demanding 14,900 EGP for the identical issue — nearly the price of a new TV. Even Samsung's own authorized repair technicians admitted this model has the same recurring defect with other customers, confirming this is a manufacturing issue, not misuse. When I asked for a fair resolution — a free repair with a genuine warranty, or a full replacement — Samsung offered only a 20% discount and refused to provide any warranty on the new repair, effectively admitting they're not confident the issue is truly fixed. Under Egyptian Consumer Protection Law No. 181/2018, manufacturers remain liable for design/manufacturing defects regardless of warranty expiration. I have filed an official complaint with the Egyptian Consumer Protection Agency (Case No. W790120), and Samsung's response so far has been repeated stalling rather than accountability. Service Order 4295966386 This is not how a global brand should treat its customers. #SamsungEgypt #ConsumerRights #ManufacturingDefect
