Failed Due to Known Battery Defect, Not Replaced - Money Pit, Buyer Beware
Ring lasted 2 years before sudden battery failure due to what is a known battery software issue with Oura. I had always treated my ring right — kept it in airplane mode except when charging 1-2 hours per week to minimize cycling, took it off before showers. Didn't matter. Ring instantly went from 4-5 days per charge to not surviving a single overnight, which means no sleep or readiness data at all. Oura ran diagnostics, but when asked customer service "couldn't confirm" what was found — instead suggesting maybe it was standard battery degradation (despite having the diagnostics available and obvious evidence to the contrary). Either way the outcome is unacceptable - evidence suggests the battery failed suddenly due to a known defect, but Oura's suggestion of 'standard' battery degradation means a new ring stops functioning after just 2 years despite optimal care. But instead of acknowledging the known defect, they offered me a discount to buy a new ring. So I'm expected to pay additional money for a replacement because the ring failed due to a manufacturer-known issue? And what's to say I won't be paying for a replacement again next year? That's the Oura customer experience.
