And then I opened the bottles...
Maybe it's just me, but I just don't understand all the great reviews. Now before I go further, let me say that I did not have any problem with getting my order, as it seems, is what many of the lower star reviewers are complaining about. My order arrived in a timely manner. In fact, I was very excited to get it. And then I opened the bottles... I purchased two versions of a very popular scent, of which I own one of the very first batches. Unfortunately, it's getting to the end and I was trying to chase the unicorn and recapture that magic scent that is no more. And when I get to the end of MY bottle, it really will be no more. So from all the reviews I read (and watched) about DUA's versions, they were supposed to be spot on dupes, just of different batches. Well, talk about a let down. Not only do these two versions not smell ANYTHING at all like the original they were attempting to dupe, they don't even remotely smell good. In fact, they smell awful. I have tried them on my skin– awful. I have tried them on clothes– awful. I tried letting them dry down– just as awful. They don't, in any way, smell like the original, not even the bastardized new batches of the original that smell only like a shadow of its former self. If you haven't guessed yet, I was searching for a dupe of Aventus. So let me cut to the chase, these ain't them. As I said, I bought two different versions from Dua and neither come even close. They smell like chemicals and bug spray. But like I said, maybe it's just me. I regret buying them, don't know if I am going to be able to sell them online, don't know if I could actually do that to someone else, so I will probably just toss them and take, yet another hit, trying to get back what probably will never be again, the smell of original Aventus. Finally, I can't speak to Dua's version of other scents, but if you are like me, don't waste your hard earned cash on their versions of Aventus because I think you will just be disappointed, and poorer.
