Ty ty nursery
Ty ty nursery - 2026 Personal opinion from an actual current persimmon tree on-line customer (victim) Purchased six (6) large and expensive Persimmon trees in 2026 (3 trees each in two separate orders) from Ty-ty nursery. Two trees arrived severely damaged with one tree (Fuyugaki Persimmon Tree) $77.84 received with the upper branches broken off. The terminal ends of three already well sprouted branches broken off (one ~12-13") (one ~8-10") and (one ~6-8"). The (Fuyugaki) tree had already sprouted leaves on all branches several weeks earlier prior to shipping. All other leaves quickly dried brown and fell of within days of receipt. Now 3 months later this leafless tree has not sprouted any leaves whatsoever, appearing in a state of dormancy (May into August) or possibly slow death, thought all along the few severely broken spindly upper branches too are progressively shriveling and dying from the terminal ends towards the root end. The second damaged tree (Giant Fuyu Persimmon Tree) $119.75 received with the large and long tap root bent upwards 180° in the shipping plastic wrap, and broken completely into two large pieces at the point of maximum bending. This root ball was unnecessarily overly wrapped extremely tight. Apparently this was done to fit the large tree into the available shipping box length. No problem right? Ty ty has a guarantee. Well, just wait until you try and get that tree with no living tap root replaced. Then comes all the requirements for mandatory delays until later in the year as it may yet sprout (or hopefully by then you will forget about this) and you have to send them a photo of the problematic or dead tree and only then will you receive their answer, not a replacement this year, but only their answer. This company has hundreds of negative reviews that can be easily found on many various sites. Many reviews state "stay away from this company/nursery". My plan is to never, ever purchase again from this problematic phony company and consider receiving only 4 of 6 trees in good order, I should feel lucky. I am not a tree novice as I have personally planted in excess of 1000 fruit and nut trees here on my property over the past 60 years. This year I planted 22 additional grafted or hybrid Asian Persimmon trees to those I already planted several decades ago. I ordered 22 trees from 8 different suppliers this year. This supplier wins the "PHONY AWARD".
