Catastrophic Delivery Delay
Catastrophic Delivery Delay It took me analyzing 53 e-mails and documents to see a possible cause why it took 2 months from 28 May till 29 July, to deliver 6 bottles of dietary supplements who can normally be imported freely to Belgium (Europe). Chronological events : 2 June : Aramex communicates : Dangerous goods 5 June ; I deliver to support (Hamdan) a copie of the Vitacost Order Confirmation with all the details of de goods and de real cost of $ 124.24 14 June : after change of delivery service DPG to Fedex, support (Shaparugsan) confirms release for shipping. The value of the goods were rated at $ 60 instead of the correct $ 124,24 ! 1 July : return of the goods to MyUS 3 July : after a call for information Fedex confirms that they didn’t imported the goods because there was no document with the dietary supplements and they passed not the goods to the Customs who normally check the bottles per automata. 22 July : after changing Fedex to DHL; MyUS support (Wiharshana) communicates that the invoice has been added and that the goods are released for shipment. 24 July : the goods are shipped with the correct amount of value for the goods of $ 124.24 29 July : the dietary supplements are delivered. Causes of the catastrophic delivery : - Dietary supplements supplier Vitacost did not included an Order document or the MyUS packaging department lost the document. - At the 5th of June MyUS Support didn’t use the Vitacost Order Confirmation with correct price of $ 124.24, who I transmitted per e-mail, but postulated a fiction price of $ 60 and included no correct invoice document. - For dietary supplement with a total import cost of less then 150 Euro ($ 173) there is no Custom Clearance, but Fedex Belgium decided to apply the control without checking the content of the package.
