I recently purchased the HiStrips Onyx because I specifically wanted a vibration alarm that could wake me without relying on a loud phone alarm as I don’t wake up with that. Unfortunately, my experience with the vibration strength has been disappointing. Even when I test the alarm while I am completely awake and paying attention to it, I can barely feel the vibration on my wrist. Strangely, I can actually hear the buzzing of the watch quite clearly from outside more than I can physically feel it on my wrist. I have tried repositioning it, tightening the band, wearing it closer to my wrist, and placing the vibrating section against the underside of my wrist to improve contact, but it still feels very weak. My main concern is that if the vibration is difficult for me to notice while I am fully awake, I don’t feel confident relying on it to wake me from sleep which is ultimately the main reason I purchased the product. I have reached out to HiStrips support to see whether my unit could potentially be defective or whether they have a stronger alternative. I will update this review based on how they respond and whether they are able to resolve the issue. The concept itself is great, and I really wanted this to work, but unfortunately the vibration strength of my Onyx has not met my expectations so far.
