Automatic Renewal: A Lack of Transparency
I used SciSpace for my research and subscribed to a one-month plan because I needed it temporarily. The problem is that, to my surprise, I was automatically charged for the following month even though I didn't want to continue the subscription. I understand that automatic renewal might be included in the terms and conditions, but I think this information should be much clearer and more visible at the time of subscription, and above all, a reminder before renewal would be a much more transparent practice. The service can be useful for scientific research, but this billing experience has really disappointed me. A one-month subscription should be clearly presented as automatically renewable, without the user having to search for this information in the terms and conditions. I hope SciSpace will improve the transparency of its subscription system.
