My Situation is Not Unique... But Please Read. You May Find Your Solution.

My situation is not unique. I was having X-Max-4 Printers issues from the very beginning. I purchased the X-Max-4 during the early adopters special. I had no worries because my Q2 performed so well and it was a true workhorse learning experience entering the 3D printing world. No experience, but I learned a lot using the Q2. For me the X-Max-4 was a no-brainer. sign me up. I received the later, earlier this year 2026 and set the printer up and like most it came with an issue or two, but the printing capabilities were there, but something was off about the printer. Hue Forge(s) would turn out flawless, but anything vertical had layers shifting. The higher the file went the worse the shifting would occur. Initially I was looking for a quick solution, but the solution did not come quick at all. Max4 Support and I went in circles for close to 5 or 6 months. Tested everything you could possibly imagine in that time regarding what I call it the "M4". Somewhere in that time I took a break to breathe. Then we picked back up because there was still no resolve to layer shifting issue. I thought it was Z-Axis due the layer shifting occurring as a model would go up. It just was not making any sense. In the end Max4support sent out some replacement parts for the Z-Axis as well and X-Axis. It took me about a week to begin taking the M4 apart again I want to say for the 4th or 5th time, and I replaced the Z-Axis first. I did not see anything that stood out to be an issue. I changed out the X-Axis and that is where it got interesting. When I began to remove the X-Axis, after literally remove the whole entire nozzle system, I heard something hit my hardwood floor. It was a couple of ball bearings that fit into the X-Axis mechanism that floats left to right and vice versa. When I look at the X-Axis mechanism there was damage to the channel that holds the bearings in place on the sliding mechanism. It appeared May / Max4Support found the problem to my layer shifting. The X-Axis was the issue, and I cleaned the printer after the installation and reset to factory setting and now, I literally have a Brand New M4 and it's unbelievable the print quality I am now getting from the printer. Every print has literally been flawless. May and the Max4support team have been extremely attentive and willing to resolve any issue that I had with the M4. The Team has renewed my confidence in the Qidi Tech Brand. My solution was not swift, but they hung in there until my issue was resolved and that speaks volumes. Be patient with the Support team and your issue will get resolved. Thank you Qidi for another awesome printer and well as excellent customer support.
