My experience w Elehear is over about 6 weeks now. I have the Beyond Pros and recently added a pair of the Delight. I don't have profound hearing loss; it is mild-moderate at some frequencies but it is associated with severe tinnitus. I researched the highest rated OTC brands and tried the Beyond and then the Beyond Pros. The customer service is fantastic. The hearing test is done over the app with the hearing aids and an audiologist sends settings for you to try. The Beyond aids worked well and the tinkering with the settings by the app to optimize them was easily mastered. I traded for the Beyond Pros and found them equally excellent and their chip makes a lot of the adjustments with much less input on my part via the app. Only a couple of choices are needed in the app. Elehear was gracious and responsive when I requested the trade. I am a physician but I am not giving medical advice, but my interest was because some percentage of tinnitus sufferers experience relief with improvement of their hearing. Not only do the devices have a tinnitus masking function, but in my case my tinnitus decreases markedly minutes to an hour after I put them in. This was the result I was hoping for and I wasn't willing to go the expensive route to find out it wouldn't help. I ordered the Delights as a spare and having a different profile device sometimes fits my needs. The original shipment got lost and I contacted Elehear and they followed up promptly and sent out another pair. As far as function, they do what they are intended. Hearing is improved although some experimentation with the app settings and choice of dome is required. Bluetooth pairing with a phone is very convenient; they are not high fidelity earbuds but function very nicely for occasional use to listen to music. The online support and the pushed reminders and instruction literature is excellent. I have had not trouble switching the wax protector plug, but have only done it once since I regularly swim laps and don't have wax accumulation in my ears. I highly recommend this product as it is technically one of the best in the OTC category and has a reasonable price point. The work you have to do is simple and for most people is learnable from their literature and aids. Prescription aids would require visits to the audiologist for detailed adjustments. I have done fine for myself. You have to judge for yourself whether a 10X cost difference is worth the effort on the customer's part; for me to learn it helped with my tinnitus it made a lot of sense and I am thrilled with the results so far.
