**Four-month-old premium Ceramic ring cracked. Oura wouldn't even repair it when I offered to pay.** I activated my Oura Ring 4 Ceramic in January 2026. Approximately four months later, in May, I accidentally knocked it against a door during normal everyday wear and the ceramic exterior cracked. The impact was relatively minor and the electronics continued working. I contacted Oura and was completely honest about what happened. When they told me accidental damage wasn't covered by warranty, I accepted that. I didn't demand a free replacement. I asked if I could PAY Oura to repair the ceramic exterior. Oura told me it does not repair this physical damage and cannot replace just the ceramic shell. For a premium Ceramic wearable with a regular price of $499, designed to remain on your hand throughout everyday life, I find that after-sales proposition astonishing. Had I known before purchasing that damage to the premium ceramic exterior could leave me with no repair option whatsoever, even at my own expense, I would not have bought the Ceramic model. What changed my perspective even further was researching other Ceramic customers' experiences. I found multiple Ceramic owners publicly reporting cracked rings followed by replacements from Oura. Most strikingly, I found a customer who explicitly reported falling hands-first onto concrete and breaking their Ceramic ring. Oura Social Care publicly took the case into warranty handling, and the customer subsequently reported that Oura sent them a new ring. I cannot understand why that accidental Ceramic fracture resulted in a replacement while my approximately four-month-old ring, damaged after a substantially less severe knock against a door, was simply categorized as accidental damage with no repair solution. I've now formally escalated my case and requested a replacement. This experience has already caused me to move to WHOOP rather than purchase another Oura. I will update this review with Oura's response to my escalation, including if they resolve the situation appropriately.
