I ordered a bike from Fafrees that was in stock when I placed it. I was later told the last unit had "sold out" during a brief address verification window but I replied to that verification email within minutes, so the timeline doesn't add up. When I pushed back and asked to find a solution rather than cancel, I was told I'd need to pay extra for a substitute model or the order would be cancelled. I made clear I wasn't willing to pay more for a problem that wasn't caused by any delay on my part. Shortly after, I received a cancellation notice saying the order was "canceled at your request" — which is untrue, I never requested this. The same notice also contradicted itself: it stated my payment "has not yet been refunded," while the order summary beneath it listed both items as "Refunded." I've kept the full email timeline as evidence and am pursuing this through Klarna's dispute process and the Financial Ombudsman Service. Be cautious with this seller, especially around stock accuracy and how cancellations are communicated.
